Ground Investigations

Traditional design and procurement of site investigations have been based on appointment of separate consultants and contractors. Whilst this is a rational approach for large and sometimes complex projects, a large number of schemes are better served by there being one point of contact for provision of factual information and interpretation/assessment.

At MLM Environmental we believe clients are better served and the quality of work ensured by providing a “one stop shop” approach to site investigation, undertaking all aspects of the work from sampling and analysis through to assessment.

Site investigations and monitoring/testing are offered at all stages of a project including pre and post tender, during construction and following construction failures or claims.

Laboratory testing is undertaken at a select list of UKAS accredited establishments who we have a close working relationship with.

As part of the MLM Group there are obvious benefits in a rapid turnaround in provision of factual data and assessment of the information for input into design, identification of problems at an early stage and assisting in fast tracking of design solutions.

Our understanding of civil and structural engineering requirements allows us to tailor the site investigation to the requirements of the design team and contractors.

All site investigation information is stored in our Geotechnical Database and Management Systems in AGS format ensuring rapid exchange of data between laboratory, site and our office.
