MLM have considerable experience with river and marine civil engineering works for Developers, Contractors, Statutory Authorities and private clients. Projects include inspection, assessment and design of quay walls, sea defences, locks and other hydraulic structures including innovative floating structures for wave energy generation.

Historically, the firm has long been involved in marine projects and has since progressed to include services regarding river walls and associated developments. The acquisition of a number of chartered engineers with port and harbours experience means that MLM can offer an expansive range of consultant services in this sector.

Our areas of expertise include:

  • Surveys of all types of existing river and dockwalls
  • Cost effective solutions and designs for all types of remedial works
  • Detailed designs, specifications and contract documents for new schemes
  • Advice on gaining approvals from statutory bodies e.g. The Environment Agency,
  • British Waterways and the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)
