MLM were commissioned by Osborne Rail to provide GRIP Stages 4 and 5 design services for the platform staircase refurbishment at Woodgrange Park railway station, undertaken as part of the Network Rail Operational Property Framework South.
Woodgrange Park station is located below street level. Two external staircases lead from street level to each platform. Both staircases were in a poor condition, with numerous defects present that had been identified by previous inspections. MLM undertook a condition inspection of each staircase and provided a report. The report formed the basis of the repair Specification and scheme design. Repairs comprised replacement of timber members, installation of new treads and blast cleaning/repainting repairs to steelwork.
MLM prepared a GRIP Stage 4 Form A submission and a GRIP Stage 5 Form B submission, both of which were approved by Network Rail at the first submission.
