MLM carried out Approved Inspector services from inception to completion for the University of Hertfordshire Student Forum complex.

The complex encompasses student learning facilities with a state of the art entertainment venue, including a main auditorium, clubs, bars and restaurant. Other ancillary buildings include a nursery and multi storey car parking.

The main 8000m2 Forum building, combining a concrete and steel frame structure, presented many interesting challenges under the Building Regulations. The challenges included assessment and approval of a Fire Engineered solution that provided a single facility to the multiple venues, complex acoustic requirements and a holistic approach to Part L compliance, sustainability and the environmental regeneration of the campus site.
