The Camden Roundhouse, London

The Camden Roundhouse

  • Client: The Roundhouse Trust
  • Architect: The Michael Sodeau Partnership
  • Market Sector: Leisure
  • Services: Health & Safety

From modest Victorian beginnings – beginning life in 1846 as a steamengine repair shed – to legendary cultural venue, the Roundhouse has an enviable heritage. The Grade II* listed building is now home to a bold and exciting programme of live music, theatre, dance, circus, installations and new media.

Works included the structural alteration of the building to provide superior use of space, and the refurbishment and improvement of kitchen and public areas.

Key Challenges:

  • Delivery of material to and through an occupied site.
  • Small site demise.
  • Dust and noise restrictions.
  • Fast track project delivery.
