Construction of a new bespoke building for Summit Aviation for the maintenance, overhaul, repair and testing of jet engines. Located opposite Manston Airport the building is ideally suited for these operations.
The building is an 80,000 sq ft industrial building including office space for Summit Aviation. Concrete pad and strip foundations, structural steel frame, cladded roof sheets including mansafe roof lights, composite and built up wall cladding sheets. Aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling.
Design challenges involved water service provision for the Fire Brigade which MLM successfully worked with the design team to overcome.
