Simmons House Adolescent Unit is an in-patient and day-patient psychiatric unit for young people between 13 and 18 years of age where adolescents and their families/carers receive an individually planned and structured treatment package.

MLM Building Control worked closely with the architect to achieve a suitable fire strategy for the building to satisfy the requirements of Part B as security was critical for this form of building.

As well as the fire issues MLM worked closely with the contractor on site to overcome accessibility issues to ensure compliance with Part M and to satisfy the client’s requirements.
