Ryanair Hangar, Stansted Airport

Ryanair Hangar

MLM Building Control were appointed to provide Building Regulation approval on the new maintenance hangar for Ryanair at Stansted Airport. The hangar is approximately 125m x 58m with a maximum height of 25m. It is a steel frame construction supported on pile foundations. The ground floor area of 9176 m2 is capable of holding 5 Boeing 737 aircrafts. Sliding doors make up the airside elevation enabling the aircraft to enter the building. The hangar is split into two sections, landside and airside. Offices, training rooms and flight simulator centre are located over 3 levels on the landside section to the front of the hangar. In addition to the requirements within ADB an aspiration sampling system was installed to the flight simulator centre and flame sensors were installed to the main hangar.
