Ramsey Abbey is a historic building in the heart of Cambridgeshire. A complete refurbishment of the 130+ year old heating system took place, with all new thermal emitters being selected to be in keeping with the style of this historical Grade II* listed building.
High efficiency multi stage boilers were installed within the extremely small underground vaulted area, which is classified as holding Historic monument Status. Therefore detailed planning and thorough communications at all levels were essential in delivering this part of the project.
It was a flagship partnering project for Cambridgeshire County Council. The £0.5m scheme was completed in terms of technical design and delivery and target cost. Our appointment on this project was a development of earlier work undertaken for Cambridgeshire Country Council on a number of similar sized partnering schemes.
