The project included for piling to provide an enlarged lightwell and portico structure to the front of the main house. The basement and rear were excavated and piled in order to facilitate new accommodation and a pool with hydraulic platform floor.
The upper storeys were also refurbished to a very high specification with gold gilding to the ornate Plaster-of-Paris and VESDA aspirating fire alarm system which did not impact visually.
We worked with the architects to achieve a balance between the requirements of the Building Regulations and the need for heritage and conservation.
