After tendering to undertake asbestos surveys on buildings earmarked for demolition within the 2012 Olympic Park (Southern Section) and subsequently winning a significant proportion of available work, MLM started to carry out surveys over a period of 4 months.

Management surveys were completed for occupied buildings and refurbishment and demolition surveys for vacant buildings. MLM identified a whole range of asbestos products in the very broad range of buildings from large industrial units to redundant office blocks.

Specialist access equipment was required to complete a number of premises. Survey conditions were made more challenging for the survey team by the derelict nature and amount of fly tipped material within and surrounding many buildings.

A flexible approach was required from MLM to be able to survey the buildings to fit in with the tight programme for demolition.
