The hospital provides 60 stroke, re-enablement and intermediate care beds, a minor injuries unit, imaging facilities, outpatient facilities and a re-enablement suite. MLM were appointed from the initial bid stage to completion, and undertook a fully detailed design service.
Facilities at the new hospital will include a rehabilitation unit, a minor injury and illness centre, an out-of-hours service, a small maternity unit and a range of outpatient facilities. The hospital forms part of a wider development programme for the local area, which will include new roads and housing.
The project has already won 2 design awards, and has been shortlisted for national recognition during 2009.
