The project involved the creation of a waiting room and associated facilities for park and ride users, as well as an exhibition space. The construction and M&E services will be visible to the public so the building itself is a learning resource.
The building will showcase renewable and low carbon technologies. Photovoltaics and a ground source heat pump are proposed which will minimise heat and energy requirements, and the construction is proposed to be hempcrete walls and green roof.
The project is subject to a bespoke BREEAM assessment and is required to achieve an Excellent rating.
