Hinchingbrooke is on the outskirts of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Hinchingbrooke School is a Local Authority School and has approx 1850 pupils aged 11-18 and 96 teaching staff.

MLM have had a continual project development with the school over a period of 5years. This project identified from the previous condition surveys was the replacement of boilers and ventilation plant serving the swimming pool areas.

Timing of the project was of the essence due to use of the pool by the community and the need to use a crane to lift the plant into position.

All ventilation plant feeding the pool area was designed to operate in a corrosive atmosphere. A gas boiler and solar hot water system were installed to provide the hot water demand to the showers and basins.

The challenges with the delivery of the project were keeping the pool in operation with the use of temporary boiler plant, phasing of the works and the location of plant using a crane.
