Situated adjacent to Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre the facility includes new 8 lane 25m competition swimming pool, world class diving pool with 10m board, leisure pool, spectator seating, dry dive facilities, new reception entrance area and modification of first floor reception. MLM’s involvement in Garons Pool, Southend comprised Geotechnical, Civils and Structural Engineering services. The initial assessment of the structural scheme proposals identified considerable potential cost savings for the client, with reductions in the excavated materials and proposed basement structure, and reduction and simplification of the building structure.

A Revit Structure 3D model was created, initially for the substructure works, to identify extent of temporary/permanent works, sequencing and construction details between the elements.

We then created the 3D model of the steel frame building envelope to ensure coordination with the supporting structure and to identify connection details in the curved/sloped framework.
