MLM acted as Civil and Structural Engineers for design and construction of 18 luxury flats in a single block with a semi-basement car park, together with 2 two bedroom semi-detached houses in a town centre brownfield site.
The building is of steel framed construction, clad with lightweight masonry and through-colour acrylic render on external insulation. Intermediate floors are insitu cast concrete formed on a permanent metal deck. Party walls are constructed from cavity blockwork and flat partitions are metal studwork clad in plasterboard.
The semi basement car park is constructed with contiguous piled perimeter walls faced in watertight concrete and piled slab. To minimise the number of internal columns within the basement car park a transfer structure was incorporated in the ground floor using FABSEC plate girders.
