Dunboyne Extra Care Scheme, Torquay, Devon

- Client: Sanctuary Group
- Architect: MEPK Architects
- Market Sector: Residential
- Categories: Care Homes
- Services: Planning and Development
The proposed scheme involved demolition of an existing 3-storey care facility with an “Art Deco” style building comprising 45 units over a combination of 3, 4 and 5-storey construction.
MLM played a significant role at concept design stage, providing advice in regards to development constraints and master planning. Further to this the requirements of the Planning Application were identified through direct liaison with the Planning Authority, culminating in a suite of supporting documentation including a Geoenvironmental Desk Study and Land Contamination Assessment, Remediation Method Statement, Pre-design Site Waste Management Plan, Flood Risk Assessment and Drainage Strategy, Services Strategy and Renewables Assessment, Transport Statement, and BREEAM Multi-Residential Pre-Assessment.
With the Planning Application proving successful, MLM worked closely with the team and developed designs for the purposes of Tender, which included Structural and Civil design, and Building Services design.
