Chichester Travelodge is a City Centre site directly opposite Chichester Cathedral in a conservation area. The building is a 4 storey Hotel and will provide 100 bedrooms over the top 3 storeys with a reception and service space and 3 commercial units located at ground floor level.

The site was previously occupied by a GPO building to the rear of a busy Post Office which remained open throughout the scheme. The GPO building was mainly of 1960s lightweight modular construction but the section of the building nearest the Post Office was of period masonry construction. This façade needed to be retained as part of the planning permission. The new building occupies most of the site leading to carefully planned deliveries and phasing of the works due to lack of storage space as well as off-site office accommodation for the contractor.
