MLM were appointed to provide the survey report, employers design brief, performance design and site supervision for the conversion of their existing redundant central boiler house into an educational facility. The facility mainly comprised 19no large and small lecture spaces to accommodate 30 and 60 students, computer suite and break out areas.
The survey’s undertaken at the inception of the project revealed existing water mains, high voltage and low voltage infrastructure, telecoms/data cabling, existing generator and plant which had to be relocated and removed as part of the enabling works for the project. The new services were designed in sympathy with the existing structure to reduce the amount of builders work to the existing subterraneous structure.
