MLM are the Building Services Engineers, carrying out the fully detailed design on this new £38 million sports complex in Basildon, which could provide a training base for the London 2012 Olympic Games. MLM are appointed by Emcor Engineering Services to develop the concept design to fully detailed working drawing stage.
It will be the largest sports project in the Thames Gateway - Europe’s biggest regeneration scheme. The new facilities will include a 50m eight-lane swimming pool, an eight-court multi-purpose sports hall, gymnastics centre, exhibition areas and meeting rooms, crèche and café.
The project also includes extensive external athletics areas including running track and Grandstand facilities.
The design incorporates many innovative and sustainable design features including a combined heating and power plant and solar water heating.
