MLM Building Control in Chelmsford have been involved in the development of the Anglia Ruskin University’s Rivermead campus.
The 4 storey Faculty building houses the Faculty of Science and Technology, Arts, Law and Social Sciences. The building completed the Rivermead campus site, leaving the old town centre campus empty and due for redevelopment. The state of the art building was designed to accommodate 1300 students and staff and incorporates interactive whiteboards in all teaching rooms, a mock court room, laboratories and a 150 seat lecture theatre.

The building is a concrete structure with two concrete cores and sheer walls supported on CFA piled foundations. The super structure is a 300mm flat slab construction supported on a combination of walls and columns typically 400 and 500mm in diameter. The external finish is a modern palette of render, zinc and timber cladding to blend in with the existing buildings on campus.
