Design and phased construction of the engineering services and infrastructure for approximately 480 dwellings, with retail and office facilities, on the approach to the Limehouse Cut in the heart of London’s East End.
The work entails the detailed design of the engineering services and has required feasibility studies and option appraisals for the installation of a combined heat and power (CHP) plant, supplying a district heating system with energy metering operated by an energy supply company (ESCO). The servicing strategy has ensured that the carbon footprint of the development have been minimised and the local planning requirements regarding renewable energy and low carbon technologies has been satisfied.
The development has been designed to comply with the 2006 Part L Building Regulations, with extensive design to determine the sensitivity of changing the various construction details and variables which affect compliance.
