The final was almost cancelled when an hour before tee-off the heavens opened to a torrential downpour and didn’t stop for a good half hour. As the tee times approached the rain eased but we had to wait for a further half hour before we could get out on the course. We had one last minute drop out otherwise a great turn out.
The finalists (see photo) were on fighting form and braved the weather for the first few holes after which it improved as the day went on so much so that we finished in good weather as the photo shows.

The course was in good condition albeit water logged in places but the greens had drained well, shame the same couldn’t be said for the bunkers which required snorkels and scuba equipment to retrieve any errant balls.
The nearest the pin was won by Charles Gjertsen and the longest drive was won by Ben Skinner, well done to both.
As for the overall competition, this was a very close run thing with scores from 24 to 36 points posted, considering the handicap penalties given and weather a good round by all. But the winning score of 36 points was achieved by two players, unfortunately for Elliot his score doesn’t qualify to win being a host. So as an outright winner and taking the title of MLM Season 3 Winner congratulations go to John Wright.

I would like to thank all who have participated in this seasons event and helped to make it the success it is. However we will be back for Season 4 in August with the first round being held on 23rd August 2010.
As for our 'internal' competition, this month a clear winner by the Challengers with Building Services taking second place, therefore this season has produced a tie between Building Services and the Challengers.
After round 12:
Structures – 12 points
Building Services – 16 points
Challengers – 16 points
Our golf games are held at Hintlesham Golf Course. Please view their website for more information about the course.
